Capitola
We already have new crew. I noticed that we were being sized up while sipping a hot cup of coffee. She was a pretty
little thing. The world was her oyster, and she knew it.
The little lady spied what she wanted, she just had to figure out how to get it.
The two mammals on board seemed to want to deny her rightful place. However, she was wise enough in the ways
of the world to know that with some patience and a tad of trickery, she'd be right where she wanted to be.
She meandered over to the less comfy spot. There was a ladder in the way, but, no
matter, despite appearances, it was not her intended victim.
While the creatures on board were protesting at the ladder step, she quickly
manuevered to the true goal, the Comfy Step. In one delicate leap she was exactly
where she wanted to be.
In the end, almost nothing moved her, not he begging, the pleading, nor the movement of the boat as it
headed out to see. Finally she could no longer take the poke, poke, poking of the boat hook. Complaining of
the indignation of it all, she was off in a plop to find more hospitable hosts.
